Book Damage Guidelines
We make sure all books are correct and in perfect condition before shipping. However, if
you have received a copy with damage, we can offer a replacement. Kindly check our
damage guidelines below to see if you can submit a damage request:
DOES QUALIFY AS DAMAGE:
DOES NOT QUALIFY AS DAMAGE:
A tear, rip or cut on the front of the book/dust jacket or spine larger than 1cm.
Small rip or tears on endpapers, book or dust jacket spine which do not affect the overall design.
Heavily scratched cover that affects the central design.
Light scratches, marks, or residue on the back of the book/dust jacket.
Minor dulling, fading, shelf wear, scuffing, ding or dents.
Residue or marks on the front or spine that cannot be removed
Page bleeding
A book that should have been signed but isn't.
White spots, small marks, or scratches on sprayed or stencilled edges, or issues with the top or bottom edges of the book where small areas of color is missing.
Production defects such as parts or pages missing
Punctured through to the hardcover of the book.
Creasing or folding on the top or bottom of the book spine, where the spine joins the boards; or creasing or folding on the top or bottom of the dust jacket.
Water Damage
Wavy pages
Slightly misaligned or off center stencilled/digitally printed edges
where the full central design (if there is one) is showing.
Misaligned or off-center stencilled or digitally printed edges where part of the central design (if there is one) is cut off.
Slightly blurry sprayed edges design
Dented or crushed corners bigger than 1.5cm.
Loose dust jackets
Heavy creasing due to incorrectly folded jackets.
Slightly faded foiling or slightly faded design that does not affect the central design.
Faded foiling or any faded design that affects the central design.
Missing head or tail bands.
Very blurry stencilled sprayed edges.
Please note that due to variations in manufacturing process and materials used, some books may feature variations that do not qualify as damage that include:
-Misaligned or off centered tip in pages.
-Differences in paint on sprayed edges due to manufacturing process and/or shelf wear that can mainly affect darker colors and shows shelf wear.
-Dust jackets that have metallic elements being more prone to light scratches.
-Faint roller lines from manufacturing
-Not properly cut first page
Please also note that some of our books are rebinded. The above criteria is our general guidance; however, every ticket submitted will be reviewed by our Customer Support Representative and all replacements will be at the discretion of our Customer Support Team.
Please note that we only accept damage/missing item claims within 14 days from the date you received your order.
